Public Relations

"Choices" is exciting. "Choices" is powerful. "Choices" is effective.

“Choices” is the exciting public relations campaign which promotes PIAW members and the “Choices” they offer to insurance buyers.  The program offers a comprehensive set of marketing tools to help you build your business and protect the future of your agency.

Newspaper/print ads, logos, press releases and public service announcements are all available FREE for use by PIAW members.  New press releases are sent monthly to every newspaper in Wisconsin. New public service announcements are recorded and sent on MP3 to every radio station in Wisconsin on a quarterly basis.  The topics of the press releases and PSA’s are timed to coincide with seasonal changes or events.

The Newspaper/Print ads are available in a variety of sizes from small “business card” size to full page size.  They are available in black & white or full color.  Each ad has ample space for your agency name and logo as well as space for an insurance company name and logo for co-op advertising purposes.

The Press Releases contain quotes that can be customized for your agency personnel.  They project your professionalism as an expert on the topic covered by the release.  It is strongly recommended that you do not personalize the quotes or releases if they cover a topic where your knowledge is limited.  You will want to customize the ending to show your agency name and contact information.

The Public Service Announcements are professionally recorded and cannot be customized for your agency, except to have your agency “tag line” added at the end by your local announcer.  They can be used to support your use of the PIA logo in your advertising efforts, stationery and business cards. Although they do not name your agency individually, they tie you into the PIAW branding efforts statewide.

Advertising in the Wisconsin Professional Agent Magazine

Question: HOW CAN I CONTACT 45,600 CUSTOMERS/PROSPECTS
FOR LESS THAN 11¢ PER CONTACT?

Answer: AN AD IN THE WISCONSIN PROFESSIONAL AGENT MAGAZINE!

In today’s fast paced world, insurance agents get thousands of direct mail solicitations and advertising pieces each year. Only a few get read!

Agents read their association magazine cover-to-cover. It’s the most visible benefit of their dues investment so they look forward to it every month. They respond to the articles, education opportunities and advertising. They trust the information we publish.

Repetition is a key to effective advertising. Each month we publish 3,800 copies of Wisconsin Professional Agent (45,600 copies per year). Since we contract our ads on an annual basis (12 issues, May through April), readers see your ads every month. That’s effective repetition! And it’s only 11¢ per contact for most size ads!

Please call or email Mandy at (608) 274-8188 or  if you have questions or want to reserve an ad space. We have a limited number of ad spaces available so please call quickly. We’ll reserve the limited spaces on a first-come, first-served basis.

Other Advertising Options PIAW Offers:

  • Loose-Leaf Advertising Inserts - This is a great way to spotlight your service or product in a particular month/issue. Reach 3800 direct recipients plus hundreds more who read the magazine as it is passed around the offices. We limit the number of paid inserts to two per issue. Inserts can be printed on both sides, can be printed on stock up to 65lb. weight and must reach PIAW by the 10th of the month prior to insertion.
  • Classified Ads - We also offer classified ads to promote: buy/selling, position openings etc... The cost is determined by membership status as well as the number of words used. This option is also contracted on a month-to-month basis. There is no additional charge for "blind ads".
